World soccer governing body, FIFA has selected the Met Life stadium in New Jersey as the venue for the finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 82,500-capacity stadium, home of NFL team’s Giants and Jets, was chosen for its strategic location in proximity to New York City.
Scheduled for July 19th, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will see 48 teams engaging in 104 matches to vie for supremacy.
Mexico City Estadio Azteca will host the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, on June 11.
Furthermore, Toronto’s BMO Field will make history, by hosting the first-ever World Cup finals on June 12 in Canada.
