Chicago Fire Head Coach debunks reports linking Lewandowski to the Club.

Head Coach of Chicago Fire, Frank Klopas has debunked reports the club is on the verge of signing Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski this off-season.

Lewandowski has struggled to hit the ground running with the Catalan club, and this has contributed to rumors he might be joining the Chicago Fire before the beginning of the 2014 MLS Campaign.

But the Head Coach of Chicago Fire, Frank Klopas, believes the signing of the former Bayern Munich and Polish striker is not feasible for Chicago Fire.

“I am sure every team in the MLS will want Lewandowski, But unfortunately, he has two more years left in his contract with Barcelona, “Barcelona paid over $50 million to get him, so I don’t think it’s a player that’s going to be coming into the MLS especially right now.

Klopas added “It’s not feasible, he won’t be coming to the MLS,  especially for our Polish community this will be incredible but I don’t think he will be coming to the MLS.

Chicago Fire are expected to augment their team with a striker after the departure of veteran Kei Kamara last season.
