Chicago Fire player Gaston Gimenez is optimistic the recent acquisition of Kellyn Acosta and Hugo Cuypers will make a significant impact as the team gears up to host Houston Dynamo at Soldier Field this Saturday

Despite Hugo Cuyper’s impressive record of scoring 2 goals in 5 outings for Fire, the Belgian International faced criticism after the last game against Atlanta United.

There is a high expectation for US Men’s National Team dynamic midfielder Kellyn Acosta to bring his explosiveness to the team.

Despite criticism of the duo from a section of the fans, 32-year-old Gimenez has quickly jumped to the defense of the newcomers, emphasizing that they will need time to adjust to the team and even the MLS.

“They don’t have a whole lot of time, some players take longer and shorter time to adapt, they have been doing great and adapted well with the rest of the team. They will indeed help us to move forward as they are doing a great job”.

With a current MLS record of 1 win, 2 draws, and 3 losses, Chicago Fire is eager to pick all three points against their Western Conference opponents on the Lakefront.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT at Soldier Field.
