Chicago Fire’s Fabian Herbers Commends Team Effort Despite Heartbreaking 1-2 Loss to Columbus Crew

Chicago Fire player Fabien Herbers couldn’t mask his frustration after a resolute performance, as they suffered a 1-2 defeat against Columbus Crew on Match Day 3 of the 2024 MLS Season.

The reigning MLS Champions clinched victory with a Goal each from Russel Rowe and Mohammed Farsi at their fortress in Columbus.

Herbers who managed to find the back of the net for Chicago Fire in the second half didn’t hold back in acknowledging the team’s resilience after losing back-to-back games this season in Columbus.

“I think the group showed character. We kept pushing. Created some chances. If you look at the quality of chances, I thought we had even better chances than Columbus for a stretch of the game. Yeah, just happy to get on the score sheet. But yeah, unfortunately, it’s not enough. So, I’d rather have taken a point or three points than scoring”

Despite their impressive performance against Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire are yet to secure a victory in the 2024 MLS season.

The hunger for a win will intensify when the Fire return to Soldier Field to host CF Montreal on March 16 with kickoff scheduled for 1 PM CT
