Fabian Herbers Applauds Team's 5-1 Victory in Preseason Opener

Chicago Fire’s  Midfielder Fabian Herbers has expressed his admiration for the team’s outstanding performance after their  5-1 win against  Loudoun United FC.

Designated Player Xherdan Shaqiri opened the account in the third minute, paving the way for a flurry of goals from Georgios Koutsias, Fabian Herbers, Kacper Przybyłko, and Fire’s draftee Laurence Wootton who sealed the scoreline with the team’s fifth goal in the 90th minute.

The 30 year old, German midfielder Herbers took delight in the overall performance of the team.

“It was a good performance against a lower division team, we dominated and scored beautiful goals, and we controlled the game, overall, this is a good first start to the preseason and solid performance by the guys.”

Chicago Fire will be on the road against their MLS opponents in a preseason game on Saturday, January 27th before returning to Chicago.

The second half of preseason training will take place in California from Feb. 5-17
