Chicago Fire Head Coach, Frank Klopas is cautiously optimistic ahead of the upcoming clash against defending MLS Champions Columbus Crew in Ohio.
Currently holding a 0-1-1 record and positioned 11th on the Eastern conference table, fire will be seeking to pick their first 3 points of the 2024 MLS Season on the road against Crew on Saturday Night.
But Head Coach Frank Klopas acknowledges the formidable nature of the reigning Champions, recognizing them as potentially the best team in the MLS.
“Obviously, they’re defending champions, so I think right now they’re maybe the best team in the League, especially at home. So, it’s going to be an interesting challenge for us. They have a great team. I think we have a great team this season as well & it’s on us to show that we can compete with them & I think against good teams we, in the past, did pretty well, so it’s going to be an exciting game I think”
Chicago Fire are yet to win a game against Columbus Crew since 2018 and are winless in the last 5 meetings between the two sides.
Kick-off will be at 6:30 pm CT, at the Lower.Com Field.
