U.S. Soccer Federation Unveils 2024 U.S. Open Cup: 96 Teams Set to Compete for $300,000 Prize Money

The U.S. Soccer Federation has announced a total of  96 teams spanning both the amateur and professional levels will compete in 95 games scheduled from March to September, competing for a prize pool of $300,000.

Commencing in March, the initial round of the tournament will see clashes between amateur and professional teams battling it out for supremacy.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a single-game, knockout format, welcoming all professional and amateur teams affiliated with the U.S. Soccer Federation.

The 2024 US Open Cup’s First Round will feature 32 games with 32 amateur clubs from the Open Division challenging 32 professional teams from Division III.

Houston Dynamo FC holds the title as the reigning US Open Cup winners securing the club’s second tournament title victory with a 2-1 victory over Inter Miami last Sept. 27th of the previous year
