Frank Klopas Names Coaching Staff for 2024 Season

Chicago Fire’s Head Coach, Frank Klopas, expresses his excitement as the front office enhances the technical team in preparation for the upcoming 2024 MLS Season.

The coaching staff for the 2024 season will feature two new assistant coaches, Paulo Nagamura and Carlos García, who will join Klopas in the dugout when the season kicks off in February.

Klopas commended the newest additions to the technical team, stating, “I’m very pleased to have Paulo, Carlos, and Ryan join our First Team coaching staff. They are all very talented and experienced coaches with diverse backgrounds, and I’m looking forward to working alongside them as we look to bring success to the Fire in 2024.”

He also expressed support for C.J. Brown’s transition to a new role within the Club and extended gratitude to C.J. and Nikolaos Kostenoglou for their contributions to the coaching staff, wishing them the best for the future.

Both Nagamura and García bring extensive coaching experience at the highest levels. Nagamura had a stint with MLS side Houston Dynamo, while García served as the Assistant Coach of Italian Serie A side, Udinese Calcio.

The Fire’s preparations for the 2024 season are well underway, currently holding the first half of its preseason training camp in Bradenton, Florida. The team is gearing up for an exciting and successful season ahead.
